Case Study
A large employer conducted an online exit interview and was presented with hundreds of pages of data. The overworked HR professionals at this organization looked at a statistical dashboard of the data to determine that there were no problems.
After the filing of a discrimination suit, Robert Lipman, attorney and President of Interactive Employment Training, Inc., reviewed all of the data and determined that the employer had serious problems.
It turns out that in the narratives provided in the exit interview surveys, several employees complained about gender discrimination in the workplace. A further analysis of the data showed that the discrimination was not pervasive and correction action could easily be taken.
Employers must remain proactive and take their employees' "temperature."
