What Supervisors Need to Know About Discriminatory Harassment

This course instructs supervisors about discriminatory harassment prevention through an engaging interactive model.

     IET's discriminatory harassment prevention online solution provides superior subject matter content in conjunction with excellent instructional design and compelling graphics. The result is a highly engaging and dynamic web-based training that both reduces workplace harassment and helps create affirmative defenses. This course was co-developed with AIG along with employment lawyers, instructional designers and interactive architects.
Target Audience:
     As a supervisor you must be able to identify and respond to unlawful behavior and distinguish it from "awful" behavior. Both your organization, and you individually, should never have to pay a dime because of sexual harassment or any other type of unlawful harassment because it will not tolerate any unlawful harassment in the workplace, and it is your job to see to it that every complaint is taken seriously, report concerns in accordance with policy, and help avoid any retaliation (perceived or otherwise) against those who complain or are witnesses.
Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
     This course will sensitize supervisors and HR professionals about the critical importance of proper documentation and communication. As a supervisor you will be able to recognize those situations that require documentation and intervention. Supervisors will learn to think more critically before acting.

     Supervisors will learn to be better listeners and respond and how to respond in a more sensitive and respectful way.

     As a supervisor you are reminded that you have a tremendous impact on morale, productivity and turnover as well as preventing exposure to lawsuits. You will learn how your actions can help prevent and defend against litigation.
Expected Time to Complete:
     This course has been designed for the average user to be completed in approximately 2 hours, but varies based on the level of experience with the material and reading speed.
